Whether you purchase a garbage disposal from a Home Depot store or on homedepot.com, we can install it for you. Just call or visit the Service Desk or ask an associate at your local store about our garbage disposal installation service. You may be able to add professional in-home installation to online purchases in some areas.

Our garbage disposal installation service includes removal and haul away of your old garbage disposal, installation of your newly purchased garbage disposal, connection of existing plumbing and electrical supply, testing of the new garbage disposal and cleanup. Please note that the garbage disposal is not included in the price of installation.

Installation is available for replacement garbage disposals only. Installation costs vary, and prices are subject to change.

Yes. Please make sure you have a power cord, or pigtail, for your new food disposal prior to installation. Check the product description of the garbage disposal you’re interested in to find out if a power cord is included in the price or if you’ll need to purchase one separately.

Some kitchen disposals are hardwired rather than plugged in to an outlet. If local codes allow this connection, your new disposal can be installed the same way. However, codes in many places now require a receptacle or outlet on a dedicated circuit for garbage disposals. If your current system doesn’t meet the code requirements in your area, you’ll need to have an electrician make changes prior to having your garbage disposal replaced.
