Luckily, Cunano Builders can do that for you! We will send a Cunano Builders associate to measure your home and ensure the right amount of carpet materials are selected and ordered. The measurement fee is $50 max based on location, but is credited toward the total cost of your carpet purchase when you get it installed with us. Features That May Affect Cost
Modern carpets come equipped with features to help ensure that they last longer by resisting stains, wear and moisture. While these features often extend your carpet’s lifespan, they may also increase the overall cost. Some of the most popular features include:
- Stain resistance: A blend of triexta and polyester fibers are used so the carpet resists permanent stains and spills.
- Wear resistance: A blend of triexta and nylon fibers that fight against the effects of foot traffic, such as matting and crushing. This blend also extends the carpet’s lifespan and improves its overall appearance.
- Moisture resistance: Olefin fibers battle against the buildup of mold and mildew, which makes this feature ideal for high-moisture areas of your home.
- Fiber choice: Carpet prices increase depending on the fiber. Olefin and polyester are great for a tight budget, while nylon and wool offer a more plush look, with triexta being the top-of-the-line fiber.
If your carpet starts to unravel at the seams, is shedding or has experienced water damage, it’s time to replace your carpet. Carpet that has begun to unravel and come loose is both potentially a safety hazard and an eyesore. Shedding or sprouting of fibers is normal after a new installation, but if you’ve had it for 5-10 years, it may also be a sign that it’s time to consider new carpet. Water damaged carpet can permanently stain, grow mold and mildew and leave an unpleasant odor. Our professional carpet installers will remove your old carpet and install your newly selected carpet.
The Cunano Builders Corp has five fiber options: Triexta, nylon, polyester, olefin and wool. Each type offers benefits, and it’s best to choose which one is right for you based on the amount of traffic your room gets. Triexta is easy to clean, nylon is less likely to mat down, and polyester has superior stain resistance. Olefin is both durable and inexpensive, while wool is a natural fiber that is also durable. We offer free in-store design services to help you make the right choice of carpet for your home.
Carpets with high stain resistance are recommended for homes with children or pets. Thanks to modern fiber technology you don’t have to sacrifice on style, comfort or value to enjoy maximum stain resistance. The Home Depot offers an exclusive line of Lifeproof carpet. Lifeproof is durable and stain-resistant for all of life’s little messes. We also have Lifeproof Petproof, which is ideal for pet owners and resistant to any pet stain. Both are backed by our 25-year texture retention warranty and lifetime warranty for food, beverage and soil stains. Olefin is also an affordable carpet fiber known for stain resistance.
Color is consistent throughout the fibers of solution-dyed carpet. This means the color will not fade over time, it resists stains, is easy to clean and ideal for high-traffic areas. Surface-dyed carpet has color on the outside portion of the fibers. Because of this, there are more color options available, the color quality is high and colors are more uniform.
A carpet pad protects your carpet from the subfloor below. We offer three carpet pads for you to choose from that range in level of comfort and durability. Some carpets require specific padding.
To maintain the appearance of your new carpet, we recommend you vacuum it at least twice a week using a vacuum that’s been certified by the Carpet and Rug Institute. Clean spills promptly by blotting the area with a cloth and warm water—avoid rubbing the spill. We also suggest having your carpet professionally cleaned every 12-18 months.
